here, I could not take the image of palanquin out of my mind and had to try stitching it myself.

Though it is not as brilliant as Indu's work, I am happy to satisfy the urge...

a simple aepan/aipan painting

A sample Aepan/Aipan/Alpana painting.

It is a popular art form of Kumaon. Walls, papers and pieces of cloth are decorated with these paintings.

The original raw material used is simple ochre (Geru) colour and rice paste. I have used a handmade sheet and acrylic colours here.
